We are saddened to hear of the passing of Colin Wing at the age of 76 — a respected former Alfa racer and preparer.

Colin was the owner of Alfa Services in Northampton, where he prepared and ran numerous race cars over the years. Among his many successes, he helped Ian Connell to multiple Championship Class wins — with an Alfetta GTV in 1989/90 and an Alfa 33 in 1992. That same year, Colin also raced alongside Ian in an identical Alfa 33.

In the late 1990s, Colin continued his involvement by supporting Ian and his sons, Richard and Marc, with their Alfa 75 V6 3.0 and later another 33, guiding them to various class victories in both the Alfa and Italian Intermarque championships.

Colin was also a founding member of the South Midlands section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC), alongside Ed McDonough, and served as its secretary for many years.

Thank you to Ian Connell for supplying the information. Our thoughts are with Colin’s family and friends.
