A spectacular day’s racing in the HITEK Alfa Romeo Championship saw all our lap records broken in glorious sunshine at the Oulton Park International circuit!

Tim Lewis last raced his supercharged Alfasud Sprint in the Alfa Championship in 2010 and his outright lap record of 1:50.107 is believed to have been set sometime before that, but at last it has been eclipsed. A sensational third lap by Barry McMahon in our second race lowered the lap record by over 6/10ths to an amazing 1:49.50.

Lap records tumble at Oulton Park

Not only that but…

In the V6 class Tom Hill shaved over a second off his own class lap record in his Revs Italia GT, setting a new record of 1:55.20, an astonishing feat in what is essentially a Production class car.

Not only that but…

In the Twin Spark Cup James Ford broke Andrew Bourke’s class lap record by nearly half a second with a new record time of 2:05.16.

Not to be outdone, Stacey Dennis established the Power Trophy class lap record with a time of 2:02.44.

What a day! Full Race Report to follow.
