A glorious day at Duxford
The Championship had two Twin Spark Cup cars on display at Spring Alfa day last weekend. Andrew Fulcher brought his Filippo Berio 147 to sit alongside Matt Daly’s yellow 145. Both stood out in the sunshine amongst 600+ Alfas and we were lucky enough to get a couple of Spitfires roaring past every now and then to set the perfect scene.
There was a lot of interest in the cars and the championship in general with plenty of people keen to come and watch at one of our race meetings. Along with Andrew and myself, Championship Coordinator Andy Robinson and panel member Keith Ford were on hand help promote the championship and answer any questions.
It was nice to see some familiar faces throughout the day with new Silverstone National TS lap record holder, Richard Ford joining Keith, Sue and Natalie for a family day out. Chris Oxborough, Ian Fisher, Gary Orchard and Tim Perry stopped by for a quick chat and Riccardo Losselli was showing off his lovely 4C. Andy had a very in depth discussion with Nick Anderson who hopes to be back out in his 33 soon, maybe at Cadwell on 2/3rd June.
The day couldn’t have gone any better and we got out just in time to miss the rain. A huge thanks to Nick Wright, Richard Murtha and the rest of the AROC team for having us and organising a prime position amongst some of the star cars on show.
We’re hoping to have cars on display at future events too including Auto Italia Brooklands on 5th May and National Alfa day at Weston Park on 1st July. If you’d like your car to be on display, please contact the panel by emailing [email protected].
