A new UK based Pre 85 racing series for Italian cars
The Pre-85 Series will run alongside selected rounds of the Alfa Romeo & Italian Intermarque Championship during the 2026 season, giving competitors the opportunity to race as part of established, well-supported race weekends at leading UK circuits.
Each appearance will feature dedicated Pre 85 track time, competitive grids, and the welcoming paddock atmosphere the championship is known for — combining classic machinery with professional organisation and close, respectful racing.
The championship culminates with a prestigious final round at Silverstone, held during the renowned Walter Hayes Trophy weekend — a fitting stage to decide the inaugural Pre 85 champion.

My own saloon car circuit racing started in 1983 as a driver. It was also at that point my workshop business started preparing “race cars” and continued until 2023.
In that time period I have seen and understood most of what makes up a good race championship and race series, and also what can spoil it. I would like to say with those same years of experience, I know what makes most drivers and teams like racing in a particular championship and race series. The reasons are not always obvious, part of my coordinator job role is to listen and understand you the drivers. Taking this all forward to make the Pre 85 the best there is, driver driven.
